Straight Line Striping
About Straight Line Striping, LLC
At Straight Line Striping, LLC, pavement markings are more than just lines on the ground—they’re a vital part of public safety, traffic flow, and property presentation. Since 1992, we’ve proudly served the greater Puget Sound region, specializing in new construction striping, restripes, sealcoating, crackseal, and extruded curb projects.
What We Do
Pavement markings come in several forms—paint, thermoplastic, and methyl methacrylate (MMA or “Durastripe”). At Straight Line, we focus on the two methods we trust the most: paint and thermoplastic.
Paint
We use a variety of traffic paints to suit different project needs, but our preferred product is Sherwin-Williams Columbia Alkyd, known for its durability and performance. For clients seeking environmentally friendly options, we also offer waterborne latex paint, a "green" alternative. Though more challenging and costly to work with, latex can be a great choice in the right conditions.
Thermoplastic
This method involves heat-applied plastic for high-durability markings. Thermoplastic comes in two forms:
Preformed thermoplastic for symbols and stencils, applied using a torch to bond with asphalt.
Thermoplastic powder, heated to 400°F and applied using a metal shoe for long-lasting striping.
Thermoplastic adheres chemically to asphalt, creating a thicker and more resilient marking—especially effective for high-traffic areas. On concrete surfaces, we use a specialized sealer to ensure proper bonding.
We always educate our clients on the importance of proper weather and surface conditions for successful applications. Skipping these steps can lead to poor results, and we’re here to help you get it done right the first time.
Our Story
Our journey started with a vision sparked by a documentary in 1990. Inspired by a woman supporting her family through pavement marking, Uncle Dave founded Straight Line Striping, Inc. in 1992. His passion laid the foundation for what would become a multi-generational family business.
After Dave's passing in 2004, his wife Dottie carried the business forward with strength and determination until 2012, when she passed the torch to her niece Jen and Jen’s soon-to-be husband Bryan. Since then, Jen and Bryan have honored Dave’s legacy by upholding the core values he established: quality craftsmanship, customer care, and a job done right.
